Soldat.devs

The Point: This channel is intended for community developers, hobby programmers, and graphic artists... and anyone else who can contribute some occasional help or insight to projects that community developers are working on. We all know the game best, so we might as well all idle in one channel to provide some help to eachother.

This channel can be summarized as intended for community devs to: - talk about ideas for new programs, games, artwork... - get feedback on new games, programs, artwork etc that they're working on. This is especially useful since everyone in there is most likely speaks the same jargonish language about development projects - helping eachother out with unfamiliar code, features... obscure things. - perhaps helping eachother out to get that perfect image for a program's interface or any other graphical needs - anything else related to the development of soldat or community apps.

This channel is specialized and is intended to stay on-topic most or all of the time.

General Stuff

  • Share large blocks of code (more than 2 or 3 lines) via a pastebin or webserver/website
  • Stay on-topic. If you start talking about general stuff, take it elsewhere. Servers -> #soldat.servers. Anything development/coding/project/hosting/OS related is 100% fine.
  • If you end up talking about something development-related elsewhere (another channel or PM), bring it into this channel. We all benefit from watching other peoples' discussions about development/coding matters
  • If you notice something being asked/explained often, contribute to this wiki and use it as a reference for people
  • Don't spam/flood
  • Don't amsg about clan wars or other off-topic matters
  • Try to keep conversation to English-only, so that the maximum number of people can participate and learn
  • Idling here for information is ok, but don't come here just to ask "When will the next version of Soldat is out" and other similar questions
  • Feel free to ask about anything you think is on-topic, we love to help!
