DeathMatch (DM). As the name implies, is a gamemode in which the sole purpose is to take one's life in favor of your game score. Often renowned for its brutality and harshness, many players are frightened by it. Others see it as a cheap way to embark into the world of mindless slaughter and mayhem. Organizations such as PANSY (Parents Acting in the Name of Siblings and Youngsters) frown upon acts of deathmatch and what it stands for.

The default rules are as follows:

  • Victory kills: 30, however, the server might change this setting to a number greater than or less than 30. Once this number is reached one can claim victory over the other players, sometimes even accommodated with taunts such as Owned, Pwnd, U suck, I win and There is only 1 person left to kill; Grit
  • Points per kill: 1, but in game modes such as PointMatch this number is doubled when a player obtains the yellow flag.
  • Time limit: The time limit is defined by the server. When it is reached and no player has the amount of kills needed to claim victory, the player with the highest amount of kills is claimed victorious.
  • Respawns: Unless in survival mode, the player is respawned after a certain amount of time after his death.
