==Dynamic arrays==
Sometimes dynamic arrays do not initialize properly. This can be fixed by initializing the array.

When using CrossFunc, on rare occasions it fails.

This has not been verified.

==Threads==
Threading causing stability issues is a well known issue with scripting. Using [[ThreadFunc]] will call another function in a new thread. If the same function is currently being ran by two separate threads, one may end or break. After some period of time (varies drastically), threads quit out or break.

Sockets require threads to be used to avoid holdup when retrieving data. Sockets are often associated with scripting instability, but the issue is with the threading, not sockets.

==Quick function calling==
Invoking the same function quickly can cause stability issues.

This can be avoided by distributing your actions throughout a larger period of time, such as using AppOnIdle (although a one second delay is pretty large).

be able to interact with each other's functions/variables.
NOTE: You can still use the single-script engine by placing all your
*.pas files directly in the /scripts/ folder. But if you have any

With this structure, "DefaultScript" and "Sub Admin" will both be loaded
into the SoldatServer. Using multiple scripts will increase server CPU
usage and memory usage, so please be considerate if you use a rental
company. System Admin's may specify a maximum number of scripts to load
using the -sl parameter when starting a SoldatServer.
When releasing a script, please include it as a ZIP file and have the
ZIP containt a folder named "MyScriptName" and have your files inside there.
So all the user has to do is extract the sub-folder into their /scripts/ folder.

* Less wasted space in .pas files!
The new engine will no longer spit out errors when your script does
not include any of the default evens such as OnJoinTeam and OnAdminConnect.
You may remove any unused procedures/functions from your script and it wont
cause any problems. Although I do recommend(not required) you keep the
functions that give a result, such as OnPlayerDamage/OnRequestGame.

R is one of two unfinished games that [[MM]] worked on after Soldat was released and maturing, the other being [[Crimson Glory]]. He released it with its source code as a Christmas present to the Soldat/game development community on December 25th, 2006 (Poland time).

A Linux port has been created, though there are a few extra steps needed to have sound work. Part of this stems from the use of MP3+WAV as the formats for the audio in the original release. OGG files have now replaced the WAV+MP3 sounds, as SDL and FMOD both support the use of OGG. Though the files are named .wav in the distribution, they are in fact OGG files.

R is a platform/puzzle/action/adventure game created from
Michal Marcinkowski's discussions with Dolny sometime in
2004 and 2005. The game is not finished and never will be.
There are whole sections of the game not done, missing graphics,
animations, sounds, maps and cutscenes. However the game is complete
in its design and is fully playable from beginning to end.
So don't worry about the missing maps, it'll just make you finish
the game faster and enjoy the magnificent ending.
R is released as open source. You may do whatever you wish with it.
You can even develop the game and complete it. But just to warn you
the source code doesn't really take advantages of c++ language and
is a pain in the ass to work with. There is one favor you can do if
you have programming skills. Compile the game for linux and other
systems. The engine should compile without problems as it is based
on SDL and FMod. When you do that please e-mail the executables to:
michal.marcinkowski<>gmail.com.
If by any chance you would like to continue the project or make
a completely new game based on it, there are thousands of ideas
waiting that didn't make it into the game. Please contact Dolny

As the Soldat community has grown, so has the popularity of "R-mode," or the sub-gamemode "Realistic Mode." In v1.3.1's R-mode, the weapons are more powerful, and have a recoil, where the cross hair slowly moves upwards with each successive shot. There is a realistic field of view, players sustain damage when they hit the ground at high speeds. This emphasizes the need for proper tactics more strongly than the standard game mode, sometimes regarded as requiring more skill.
